Sounds on 45

Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms before placing an order with Sounds on 45. We've tried to keep them straightforward and easy to understand.

Last updated: September 2026

1. ABOUT THESE TERMS

These terms apply when you place an order with Sounds on 45 for a personalised vinyl record or related product.

Please read them before completing your order. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.

References to "we", "us" and "our" mean Sounds on 45. References to "you" and "your" mean the person placing the order.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. ABOUT SOUNDS ON 45

Sounds on 45 creates personalised songs and custom vinyl records. Customers can either create a personalised song through our website or upload a recording they already own or have permission to reproduce.

Our vinyl records are individually produced using specialist production partners.

Before the website begins accepting paid orders, the business and contact details below must be confirmed.

3. PERSONALISED PRODUCTS

Sounds on 45 records are made specifically for individual customers.

Your order may include a unique combination of audio, song title, names, dates, photographs, artwork, sleeve design and other personalisation.

Because these products are made to your specification and are personalised for you, the normal right to cancel an online purchase simply because you have changed your mind may not apply once production has begun.

This does not affect your statutory rights if your product is faulty, not as described or otherwise does not meet the standards required by law.

4. PERSONALISED SONG CREATION

Where you use our song creation service, you will have an opportunity to listen to the generated song versions available to you and choose the recording you want to use.

Please listen carefully before making your selection.

Computer-generated music can occasionally contain unusual pronunciations, unexpected musical choices, lyrical interpretations or other characteristics inherent in generated audio.

By selecting a particular version and completing your order, you are confirming that you are happy for that recording to be used for your record.

This does not affect your rights where we manufacture the wrong recording or where the finished product is otherwise faulty.

5. CUSTOMER-UPLOADED AUDIO

If you upload your own audio, you are responsible for providing the best-quality source file reasonably available to you.

WAV files are recommended for the best results. High-quality MP3 files can also be accepted.

Compressed or lower-quality source audio may affect the quality of the finished record. Where our website identifies a potentially lower-quality file, we may give you the opportunity to replace it or choose to continue with it.

If you choose to proceed after being shown an audio-quality recommendation, we will use the file you have supplied.

We do not normally remaster, repair, restore or enhance customer-uploaded recordings unless we have specifically agreed to provide that service.

6. VINYL SOUND AND PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Vinyl is a physical analogue format and will not necessarily sound identical to a digital audio file.

Normal characteristics of vinyl playback can include small amounts of surface noise and differences in volume, tone or frequency response compared with the digital source.

Minor characteristics inherent in the vinyl format are not necessarily manufacturing defects.

However, this does not affect your rights if your record is genuinely faulty, damaged, incorrectly manufactured or not as described.

7. TRACK LENGTH AND TECHNICAL SUITABILITY

There are physical limits to how much audio can be placed on a vinyl record while maintaining suitable playback quality.

Our website may specify recommended or maximum track lengths.

We may contact you if we believe the supplied audio is unsuitable for production or requires alteration before it can be cut successfully.

We will not make a material alteration to your chosen recording without your agreement.

8. ARTWORK AND PERSONALISATION

You are responsible for checking the personalisation information you provide before completing your order.

This includes, where applicable:

  • names
  • song titles
  • dates
  • dedications
  • spelling
  • photographs
  • uploaded artwork
  • other customer-supplied information

Please check these carefully.

Where your order is produced using information that you supplied and approved, we are not responsible for reproducing an error that was already present in the information you provided.

If we make an error that was not present in the information you supplied, please contact us so we can put it right.

9. PRINTED COLOURS AND POSITIONING

Screens and printed materials reproduce colours differently.

There may therefore be small differences between an on-screen preview and the finished printed sleeve or record label.

Minor variations in colour, positioning, trimming and print appearance can occur during physical production.

These normal production variations do not necessarily mean the product is defective.

This does not affect your statutory rights where there is a significant error or fault.

10. YOUR RIGHTS TO UPLOADED MATERIAL

You must only upload audio, photographs, artwork, text or other material that you own or have the necessary permission or legal right to use and reproduce.

You must not upload commercially released music, copyrighted recordings, photographs, artwork or other protected material unless you have the necessary rights or permission to have that material reproduced.

By uploading material and placing an order, you confirm that you have the right to use that material for the purpose of creating your personalised product.

You give Sounds on 45 permission to use the supplied material only as reasonably necessary to process, manufacture and fulfil your order, including sharing it with production partners where necessary.

We may refuse or cancel an order if we reasonably believe that supplied material infringes another person's rights or cannot lawfully be reproduced.

If an order has to be cancelled for this reason, we will explain what happens next and any refund will take account of applicable consumer law and any work that has already lawfully been carried out.

11. UNACCEPTABLE CONTENT

We reserve the right to refuse material that is unlawful or that we cannot legally reproduce.

If we cannot fulfil an order because of the content supplied, we will contact you.

12. PRODUCTION PARTNERS

We use specialist third-party production partners to manufacture some or all of our physical products, including vinyl records.

Your contract remains with Sounds on 45.

If a production problem occurs, we will work with our production partner to resolve it.

Where appropriate, this may involve reproducing the item, providing a replacement or issuing a refund.

We will not exclude your statutory consumer rights simply because part of the manufacturing process was carried out by one of our production partners.

13. PRODUCTION TIMES

Each Sounds on 45 record is individually produced.

Any production or dispatch times shown on our website are estimates unless we specifically state that a date is guaranteed.

Occasional production delays can occur, particularly because these are individually manufactured products.

If there is a significant delay affecting your order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible.

If we cannot fulfil your order, we will offer an appropriate remedy, which may include a replacement, alternative arrangement or refund depending on the circumstances and your legal rights.

14. DELIVERY

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

Please check your address carefully before completing your order.

We are responsible for ensuring that your order is delivered in accordance with applicable consumer law.

If your parcel arrives visibly damaged, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible and, where possible, provide photographs of the packaging and product. This helps us investigate the problem and arrange an appropriate solution.

Your statutory rights are not affected if you are unable to provide photographs.

15. CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS

Because Sounds on 45 products are personalised, please contact us immediately if you need to change or cancel an order.

If production has not started, we will normally try to accommodate reasonable changes or cancellations.

Once manufacture of a personalised product has begun, it may no longer be possible to cancel or change the order simply because you have changed your mind.

Nothing in this section limits any cancellation or other rights that apply to you by law.

16. FAULTY OR INCORRECT PRODUCTS

We want you to be happy with your record.

If your product arrives damaged, contains a manufacturing fault, is materially different from what you ordered, or we have made an error with your personalisation, please contact us.

Depending on the circumstances and your legal rights, we may arrange a replacement, reproduction, repair where appropriate, or refund.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights relating to faulty, misdescribed or otherwise non-conforming goods.

17. CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED AUDIO QUALITY

We cannot guarantee that a poor-quality source recording will sound better when transferred to vinyl.

Where the finished record accurately reproduces limitations already present in the audio file supplied and approved by you, those source limitations will not normally constitute a manufacturing defect.

This does not apply where the manufacturing process itself introduces a fault or where we fail to produce the product with reasonable care and skill.

18. PRICES AND PAYMENT

Prices will be displayed before an order requiring payment is placed.

Any applicable delivery charges and other compulsory charges will be made clear before the customer becomes committed to paying.

When online payment is introduced, the ordering process will make it clear when placing an order creates an obligation to pay.

19. PRIVACY AND CUSTOMER FILES

We use customer information and uploaded files to create, process and fulfil orders.

This may require securely sharing relevant audio, artwork or order information with production partners involved in manufacturing or delivering your product.

Further information about how we handle personal information will be provided in our Privacy Policy.

Customer audio, photographs and other uploaded materials will not be used for unrelated promotional or commercial purposes without permission.

20. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The Sounds on 45 website, branding, original artwork, designs and other content created by us remain our intellectual property or that of our licensors.

Purchasing a personalised product does not transfer ownership of our underlying website, templates, branding or design systems.

You retain whatever rights you hold in original material that you upload to us.

21. EVENTS OUTSIDE OUR REASONABLE CONTROL

Sometimes an order may be affected by events outside our reasonable control, such as serious postal disruption, natural disasters, widespread service failures or other exceptional circumstances.

If this happens, we will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect on your order and keep you informed where appropriate.

This section does not remove rights or remedies that you have under consumer law.

22. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The version that applies to an order will normally be the version presented to you when you placed that order.

The date of the current version is shown at the top of this page.

23. GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the applicable laws of the United Kingdom, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.

Nothing in these terms removes any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
